Arrival

Although the Kleinwalsertal valley is in Austria, it is only accessible via road from Germany.

Car

Coming from Germany: A7 to the Allgäu motorway junction – A980 until the Waltenhofen junction – Bundesstraße 19 via Sonthofen and Oberstdorf towards Kleinwalsertal
Coming from Switzerland: St. Gallen towards Bregenz – Queralpenstraße towards Oberstaufen, Immenstadt, Sonthofen and Oberstdorf into the Kleinwalsertal
Coming from Austria (Tyrol): A7 towards Kempten – B19 towards Oberstdorf and into the Kleinwalsertal

Train and bus

The nearest train station to Kleinwalsertal is situated around 10 km away in Oberstdorf, Germany. From here you can either take the Walserbus or a taxi to Riezlern. The Walserbus leaves Oberstdorf train station (every 10 minutes in peak season) and heads to the Kleinwalsertal (between 15 and 40 minutes travelling time depending on the end bus stop).
